By enrolling in lessons, participating in classes or events, or using our website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Enrollment
Enrollment is ongoing throughout the year and is subject to teacher and schedule availability. A student’s lesson time is reserved exclusively for them and will remain reserved as long as the account remains in good standing.
Tuition & Payments
To provide consistent scheduling and ensure your lesson time remains reserved, tuition is billed on a monthly basis.
- Tuition is due in advance at the beginning of each month.
- Lessons are offered on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contract required.
- Once tuition has been paid for the month, it is non-refundable, as your teacher and weekly lesson time have been reserved exclusively for you.
- Tuition reserves your weekly lesson day and time and covers instruction only. Books, sheet music, and other materials are not included unless otherwise stated.
- Monthly tuition is processed automatically using the payment method on file unless alternative arrangements have been made with the front desk.
- Returned payments or declined transactions may be subject to a processing fee and must be resolved promptly to avoid interruption of lessons.
We appreciate your timely payments, which help us provide a consistent, high-quality learning experience for all of our students.
Communication Policy
To ensure timely and accurate service, all communication regarding lesson absences, scheduling, make-up lessons, billing, or account changes should be directed to our front desk—not to your teacher.
Our office staff manages scheduling and student accounts and is best equipped to assist you with these matters. This allows our teachers to remain focused on providing the highest quality instruction during lesson time.
You can reach our front desk by phone, text, or email, and we will be happy to assist you promptly.
Attendance & Make-Up Lessons
Regular attendance is essential for steady musical progress and helps students build confidence and achieve their goals.
- If you are unable to attend a lesson, please notify our front desk by text, email, or phone at least 24 hours in advance.
- Students who provide 24 hours’ notice are eligible for a make-up lesson in accordance with our Make-Up Lesson Policy.
- Lessons missed with less than 24 hours’ notice, or no notice at all, are not eligible for a make-up lesson or a refund, as your teacher has reserved that time specifically for you.
- If a teacher is unable to teach a scheduled lesson, a qualified substitute may be provided whenever possible. If a substitute is not available, the lesson will be rescheduled or a make-up lesson will be arranged. Refunds are not provided for teacher absences.
- Make-up lessons are subject to teacher availability and must be scheduled within the timeframe outlined in our Make-Up Lesson Policy.
- Excessive absences may affect a student’s enrollment. Denville Music Academy reserves the right to review attendance records and, if necessary, discontinue or reschedule a student’s reserved lesson time after discussing the matter with the student or parent.
This policy allows us to provide consistent scheduling for all students while respecting our teachers’ time and commitments.
Discontinuing Lessons
If you decide to discontinue lessons, we kindly ask that you notify our front desk by the 15th of the current month. This allows us to update our schedule and offer your lesson time to another student.
- Notice received on or before the 15th: Your lessons and billing will end at the conclusion of the current month.
- Notice received after the 15th: Your account will be billed for the following month, and your reserved lesson time will remain available for you during that period.
Because your teacher and lesson time are reserved exclusively for your student, we are unable to make exceptions to this policy.
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for giving us adequate notice when your schedule changes.
Student & Parent Responsibilities
Students are expected to:
- Arrive on time and prepared for their lessons.
- Practice regularly between lessons.
- Treat teachers, staff, and fellow students with kindness and respect.
Parents of younger students are asked to support regular practice at home and communicate with teachers regularly regarding student progress.
Recitals & Events
Performance opportunities, including recitals, are offered throughout the year. Participation is encouraged but never required.
Weather & Emergency Closures
If lessons are canceled due to severe weather or unforeseen circumstances, students will be notified as soon as possible. Lessons may be held online, or a makeup lesson can be provided at a later date.
Media Release
From time to time, Denville Music Academy may photograph or record lessons, recitals, and events for educational and promotional purposes. The front desk staff will ask for your permission to share any photographs on the premises or via social media.
